Now we're talking about cars. The Ferrari F430---a true beast of a car. Lots of horsepower, got the looks, and definitely a Fast New Car. Personally, I love Ferrari's, but it doesn't top the cars below me :-)... So what's the specs? Here you go.
A great article to inform you on the performance and beauty of this new fast car:
The 2005 Ferrari F430 is Ferrari’s latest mid-engine V8-powered sports car, available as both a coupe and an open-top Spider, replacing the 360 Modena. The Ferrari 308 GTB was the first mid-engine V8 Ferrari and is one of the most popular Ferraris of all time. The 308 was followed by the 348 for 1990 and the F355 for 1995 before being replaced by the 360 Modena for 2000. The 360 Spider was added during the 2001 model year. The F430 continues the extensive use of aluminum for the chassis, body and suspension, which began with the 360 Modena. An optional braking system with carbon-ceramic discs will be available. The overall design of the F430 is very aerodynamic and includes elements used in racing, such as a flat underbody and a large diffuser that dominates the rear view of the car. The diffuser creates downforce and eliminates the need for a large rear wing, although the body does include a small lip at the center of the short rear deck. The design is much more aggressive than the 360 Modena, with sharper, chiseled lines and a less organic shape.
The 2005 Ferrari F430 is powered by a new 490-horsepower 90-degree 4.3-liter V8 engine that is very light and compact, while producing an incredible 114 horsepower per liter. A Formula One-style gearbox is used, reducing gear shift times to only 150 milliseconds. Performance figures from Ferrari promise acceleration from zero to 62 mph in 4.0 seconds and a top speed of over 196 mph. Two technical innovations that come directly from the Ferrari Formula One cars will be offered for the first time on a production car when they debut on the F430. They are an E-Diff electronic differential, and a steering-wheel-mounted switch that controls the integrated systems managing vehicle dynamics.
Now that we got that out of our systems, what do you think of it? Sure it's not the best Ferrari out there, but I think it gets pretty damn close. If you like this car, other favorites might be the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. Maybe we'll see more Ferrari's, Mercedes, and BMW's later on in this blog. For now, enjoy!
